Don’t Have a Wasted Life

Man

The Earth is a little over 4.5 billion years old. Mammals didn't evolve until 200 million years ago and our own species, Homo sapiens evolved 200,000 years ago. So, humans have been around for a mere 0.004% of the Earth's history.

Earth is home to millions of species, yet just one dominates it. Man. Our cleverness, our inventiveness and our activities have modified almost every part of this planet.

Even though the average life span in the United States is 79 years, that amount of time compared against the amount of time humans have been around is very small and over in a blink of an eye. To waste this unique short period of life on drugs and abuse of alcohol is truly a shame.

Youth feel they are immortal and bulletproof. You think, “I’ll be fine.” Then you’re forty and wondering what happened to your life. You can’t believe what started as “having fun” or “experimenting” turned into a lifelong addiction.

Do you really want to miss this short time of existence in our galaxy loaded and not even knowing more than your name, let alone how you fit in the universe. Being wasted, drunk and high for any amount of time is robbing yourself and others of the precious resource of LIFE.

Addiction keeps one without dreams. Drunkards lose hope. Both live without purpose, causing a short life to be even shorter.

To have a child suffer is unbearable to a parent, to have someone watch a loved one suffer addiction is much the same. Losing a generation to addiction is disheartening.

Go outside and look up in the sky at night – recognize this brief moment as the opportunity it is and help your loved ones before this short time passes by. Help them live their life. Find out how. Call 1-800-DRUG-FREE.
