The Other Drug Epidemic

With all the attention on the opiate epidemic, there is little reporting on other drugs and the effect they are having on our nation.

While heroin addiction is getting most of the media attention, a smaller methamphetamine epidemic is growing off camera. There was a temporary drop in meth use after the crackdown on domestic manufacturing. However, it exploded markets in other countries and the drop in use was short lived.

“Ohio, a focal point of the opioid epidemic, is also battling a meth resurgence, particularly in rural areas, authorities have said. Reports indicate the same happening in Texas, Montana, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Iowa and South Dakota.”
