“This part of the Narconon program has taught me a lot about what is going on in the world around me and how to deal with it. I am no longer focused on the things that have gone on in the past but rather focused on what’s happening right now in present time, and how I can better myself in the future and keep myself from making the wrong decisions in the past the led me to using drugs.” —Recent Graduate of Narconon New Life Retreat

Regret and shame are the constant companions of a drug addict. They follow him even after he’s living clean.

No addict is able to continue abusing drugs without resorting to deception and lies. He has to keep secrets in order to maintain his habit. What is more, drugs erode the moral fiber of their users to the point where they make decisions that they themselves would have considered heartless or stupid years ago.

Suffice to say, drug addicts have hurt a lot of people in their lives, particularly those friends and family that used to be their closest allies. What’s more, drug addicts have done a great deal to hurt themselves. It gets to the point where the addict is not able to create his future because he is always thinking about the past.

Narconon New Life Retreat is changing all of that. With special classes and counseling designed to help its students confront the consequences of their addiction, graduates leave the program with a new lease on life. They feel free from their past because they confronted it, dealt with it, and made amends while they were on the program. They finally got closure, and now they are ready to start their lives anew.
