Learn to Prevent Overdoses

August 31st is the day we celebrate International Overdose Awareness Day to commemorate those lost to drug addiction and to raise awareness on how to prevent the loss of more life.

The drug epidemic has not slowed down and now more than ever, it is important to be prepared. Naloxone has become easily accessible in most states and if you are not sure where you can get it, please visit our page on locating Naloxone.

In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, the staff of Narconon Louisiana visited the State Capital in Baton Rouge to disseminate drug education materials and to raise awareness on what can be done in the case of an overdose.

In the case of an opiate overdose, Naloxone is the most effective route to take. If Naloxone or Narcan is not available, call emergency services and administer CPR. With an opiate overdose, death is usually caused by respiration failure, so assisting the person to breathe is extremely important.

In the case of drug use, please contact us for free assistance in locating treatment for your loved one. For free drug education, send in a request or call 877-959-0075.
