The Steps I Took to Recover from Addiction

AC

“I can certainly say the Narconon rehab program has changed my life. In the Withdrawal area, I could safely stop drinking. I realized the amount of damage I did to become so dependent on alcohol. After withdrawing, I began feeling much better physically and mentally through doing locationals.

“The sauna detoxification was an absolute God-send for me. I started out very skeptical that it would really do anything, but throughout and after sauna, I could feel a big change in my thought process, having the fog removed from my mind and just feeling good overall. I felt like a brand-new person with a clean slate./p>

“Then, Objectives taught me a lot about patience, control and communication. Communication being the most important, as it is something I need to have to be successfully sober and to flourish in anything I do.

“Throughout the Ups & Downs Course, I had the opportunity to evaluate the people in my life. Some were not what I thought they were and thus, I disconnected from a few negative influences in my life. As for the other people, I realized how important they are to me and how much I need them. These are the people I need to trust and lean on in times of need. I also could take responsibility and apologize for my previous negative actions that caused these important people in my life harm.

“In the Personal Values portion of the program, I thought about the negative things I did and things I didn’t do that I should have. I could get them outside of my mind and onto paper which allowed me to finally let go of those negative thoughts.

“In the Conditions portion of the program, I evaluated myself and found the true root of my problems. That enabled me to address my issues and work my conditions to put myself in a better situation in life. I also did the same for the people who are closest to me and it gave me a direction to move toward to progress up the conditions on those relationships. Conditions are something that I will always think of throughout life regarding myself as well as various relationships with the people I already know and will know.

“All in all, the Narconon rehabilitation program has been a huge success for me. I have gained sobriety and the tools to stay that way and a better sense of myself and my relationships. It also has allowed me to love myself once again.”
