A Life to Defeat

Free Woman

A beautiful young girl
So vibrant and sweet
All harms in her life
She could defeat

She loved to laugh
Even more to play
Enjoyed by loved ones
Each and everyday

With a sister and parents
In a safe loving home
To find a comforting place
She need not roam

But then one day
It happened so fast
That fun-loving girl
Was now in the past

He swooped on in
He stole her pride
He changed her life forever
In just one stride

Her knight and savior
Soon after took flight
Her heart consumed by loss
He was nowhere in sight

She brutalized and tormented
She shattered their hearts
She took what she could
And left them for parts

Who was this stranger
That lurked in their lives
This demonic creature
They now had to survive

In the still of the night
They lie awake with dread
Come tomorrow they ask
Will their daughter be dead?

The tears, they flowed
The pleas, they came
To save herself
To a life that’s tame

She thrashed, and she slashed
As she fought with might
She made them wrong
Because she wasn’t right

Depressed Girl Addict

As decades went on
Conditions got worse
A life full of drugs
A life with a curse

No longer just her
A lone life to take
She was now a mother
More lives were at stake

With a damaged heart
And low self-worth
She fell for a man
Whose hell would unearth

With this girl as his prey
His anger would fester
He tore her down
He forced her sequester

By her throat
He held her high
Five words he spoke
“you now have to die”

With a narrow escape
Her life had been spared
Her head in a frenzy
Reality impaired

Withered, beaten
Broken and bruised
A shattered heart
A mind confused

She fell even deeper
Her mind constantly drugged
And in her wake
Innocent lives had been mugged

A hole in her heart
Her mom had to face
The question of how
Her daughter got to this place

She had to act fast
And made up her mind
She advised the authorities
Of what they would find

It was that moment
Enough was enough
She had to get out
She had to be tough

Alone again
A life she had failed
She asked for help
Off the train that derailed

Please mom don’t cry
And dad don’t fear
For this wretched life
The end is near

Packing luggage.

Before her mind could change
She eagerly packed
Leaving treachery behind her
And never looked back

She yearned to go home
And desperation took feed
“to what” someone asked
To nothing indeed

She sucked in her lip
And puffed out her chest
She decided to stay
As it was for the best

As the months carried on
She dug deep within
And looked at her life
Full of unforgivable sin

She saw with clear eyes
All the damage and pain
That she caused for her loved ones
And the tears she made rain

She looked at her life
Now with light in her heart
She knew she was lucky
Very few got a new start

She let out the truth
But not without stumble
And made a promise to all
To lead life that is humble

She thought of her kids
How their love had not perished
Her future with them
Will forever be cherished

She broke through her darkness
And learned how to laugh
Discovered she’s worth it
But that’s only the half

She called up her loved ones
And one by one shared her glee
The nightmare was over
They were finally free

Proud woman after recovery sitting on the beach.

Lives filled with light
Bonds made with amends
Hearts filled with hope
Much love with no ends

As she looks back in horror
At her life of beset
She vowed never to repeat
And to never forget

A broken girl
Once brought to her knees
From a life in a storm
Finally, at ease

She now leads a life
Filled with love and respect
A star shining bright
Is what to expect

A beautiful young girl
So vibrant and sweet
All harms in her life
She did now defeat
