Narconon Louisiana Graduate Finds Success in Drug Rehab

Happy family

Nine years ago, Nate began abusing drugs and alcohol. Very quickly, his life spiraled out of control until he found himself addicted to crack cocaine. After spending several weeks trying to find the right rehabilitation facility that would handle his cocaine addiction, Nate, and his mother finally found Narconon Louisiana. There, Nate was able to handle the factors in his life that caused him to resort to drugs and alcohol in the first place.

Nate and his mother realized that Narconon Louisiana is unlike most other rehabs. Instead of focusing on learning how to cope with life while staying on drugs like methadone or buprenorphine, Narconon clients focus on learning the sober living skills that make drugs unnecessary. When life is productive, enjoyable and cravings are either under control or non-existent, then a sober life is more enjoyable than an addicted one. No one actually wants to be an addict—it just takes having the hope of a bright future to get a person to start a rehab program.

Recently, Nate and his family sat down and explained how the Narconon Louisiana program changed not only Nate’s life but also his whole family’s. “Our life was hell. There was so much worry, stress, and frustration. To not be able to help one of your sons become the man that I see him be today was unbearable,” explains Nate’s mom, Karen. “I was desperate. I had spent weeks on the internet. We couldn’t find anyone that would take him. I stumbled upon Narconon Louisiana and I just knew that this was the place that he needed to come.”

By the time clients enroll in the Narconon Louisiana program, the drugs and/or alcohol have usually taken over their lives, like in Nate’s case. Utilizing the one-on-one, holistic tools that are part of the Narconon program, clients are able to move past their addictions and live drug-free, productive lives.

At Narconon, no one is taught that addiction is a disease. In fact, clients in recovery complete studies that enable them to learn the life skills they need to build stable sobriety.

Upon completion of this drug rehab program, clients no longer have the idea that they need drugs or alcohol to survive. They have learned to overcome the problems that drugs and alcohol kept blanked out. Nate described his success several months after he completed the Narconon rehab program. “I’m coming up on eight months sober. It is the best feeling that I think anyone could have. There are no words to describe how thankful I am for this program,” he said.

Nate’s success can be your success. If you or anyone you know is in need of help for a substance abuse problem, please call Narconon Louisiana for more information. Help is available.
