I Defeated My Addiction

This is My Success Story

Chelyn, Narconon Graduate

“I, like many young adults, did not have aspirations of becoming a drug addict. I was a normal, fun-loving kid and although my home life was not ideal, we made do with what we had. I was 14 when I started experimenting with drugs.

“I lived with problems I never addressed and my addiction grew. Instead of solving the problems, I escaped them by using drugs and became a hard drug IV user.

“My road to recovery started in 2014 when I was arrested for possession. I was let out on a cash bond and became determined to get into a rehabilitation center that would help me. Narconon not only helped me kick my addiction but focused on the other aspects of addiction as well.

“I have heard that cravings come from drug residuals that are trapped in fatty tissues and are released into the body over time. That's where the New Life Detoxification tremendously helped me by tackling the physical side of addiction, literally flushing out all of the toxins I had stored in my body from years of abuse.

“Next came the Objectives, which helped me with the mental aspect of addiction. This helped rewire my previous way of ’auto-pilot’ thinking otherwise known as ’doing without thinking.’
It helped me overcome situations in life that I would have normally used drugs over. It taught me how to approach and perceive life in a whole new manner. I still use this approach to this day.

“And last but not least, was the battle of confronting my past. The Narconon program helped me locate the exact moments as a young child that created the voids I had relentlessly tried to fill with drugs, money and men. After many realizations about those voids and why they were there, I was able to refill them with healthy relationships and hobbies.

“I am now approaching 2 and 1/2 years of sobriety. My life today is amazing and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. All thanks to Narconon. I am grateful for the memories, friends, and experiences I have today which Narconon helped me to achieve.

“What I loved most about being at Narconon was that no one forced anything on me. They let me find it out on my own. This gave me a sense of importance, gratitude and appreciation. Thanks to Narconon, I am now independent. I pay my bills on time. I am able to confront situations I would have isolated from in the past. Most importantly, I now know it is ok to disconnect from toxic people and situations and to not be ashamed in doing so!

“Thanks to Narconon for helping me find a life I thought was only real in television. I never fathomed in my wildest dreams that this level of happiness was even possible. I have a lot of thanks to give and more than half go to Narconon. Without the Narconon program, who knows where I would be!!!”
