Five Years Later and Still Clean

In 2019, I was a very broken young man. When I arrived at Narconon Louisiana, everyday tasks were incredibly tough or impossible. I thought I would be in for a rough road to get clean. In the withdrawal portion of the program, I learned how to confront the things around me and how to focus on the now and not dwell on the past. The staff and the withdrawal program were amazing. It was the easiest drug withdrawal experience I've had.

In the New Life Detoxification (sauna) part of the program, I could literally feel drug residuals being flushed out of my body. I felt better with each passing day during the sauna and my sleep pattern improved each day.

Then I got to the Objectives portion of the program, which was my favorite part of the program. In that part of the program, I learned a lot of the tools that have kept me sober through these last five years. These were the skills I was always missing, which kept me trapped in a vicious cycle.

When I reached the life skills portion of the program, I opened up and figured out so much about myself and where I kept going wrong. I learned that honesty is a key part of living right. At first, I had a very foreign idea about being honest because, as an addict, I lied about everything. The staff helped me mend the relationship with my family, which still stands strong today.

“Now, I am over 5 years clean and well-established, working as a CNC machinist in my own place and living a clean life.”

Now, I am over 5 years clean and well-established, working as a CNC machinist in my own place and living a clean life. I am thankful for everything Narconon and the staff did for me and my family.
