Are Functioning Addicts Actually Functional?
Everyone comes from different walks of life. That being said, anyone can be an addict and there is no stereotypical version of what an addict should look like or be in society. There are many addicts, some you would never know unless you paid very close attention. Those people are what we call functioning addicts.
Some Things Have Not Changed
Covid-19 restrictions across the country have more or less ben lifted or reduced. Despite this good news, the issues many face have not changed and continue to cause heartbreak across the country.
Warning Signs
The first thing that probably comes to your mind when I say “drug addict” is the homeless guy in torn up clothes holding an “anything helps” sign by the freeway. It’s easy to think “Man, how can someone get to that point without getting help first? Doesn’t he have any family that care about him?” Then you continue about your day without thinking twice about him.
