Getting Off the Road of Addiction

I was an opioid user on and off for the better part of four years. I tried a few different ways to get clean. I attended meetings as well as put all my faith in a Higher Power. Neither of those would last for very long.

Not having many resources impeded me from attaining sobriety. I did not think I could up and leave my life behind to go away for treatment for an extended period. I also had the idea I would not have enough financial help which also prevented me from seeking treatment.

However, once my life reached the point I was going to lose my family and possibly my home, I knew I needed to do something. I wanted to change, but I felt there was no real help for me. So, in what I believed was the lowest point of my life, I reached out for help.

By some miracle, the first place I reached out to was the Narconon center, only a few miles from my home. I had never heard of Narconon before and was expecting it to be a typical treatment facility.

“When I called, I had the expectation that a part-time receptionist would take my info and someone would call me back during business hours since I called outside of that time. Instead, I was warmly greeted and immediately transferred to an Intake Specialist who was ready and willing to get me in. He did everything in his power to help me.”

When I called, I had the expectation that a part-time receptionist would take my info and someone would call me back during business hours since I called outside of that time. Instead, I was warmly greeted and immediately transferred to an Intake Specialist who was ready and willing to get me in. He did everything in his power to help me.

There was nothing I told him that he could not relate to. He understood everything I said and genuinely cared, showing concern for my situation. He wanted to get me into treatment that night! I could not believe it.

Sure enough, within about four hours of making that first phone call, I was pulling into the Narconon driveway.

The point of me writing this is to show that no matter how hopeless you might think a situation is, or even if you believe there is no help, reach out. Narconon took my seemingly hopeless situation and turned it into the best opportunity of my life.

Out of all the treatment centers I have attended, I feel like this is the last one. I have got more out of Narconon than I have anywhere else. I am excited to continue my program and see what else I can learn.

All the staff and students alike have welcomed me with open arms. Everyone is so kind and has helped me through everything I have gone through. I know this is the place for me.

Sincerely,
