“I Saw a Massive Change in Myself”

RC Narconon Graduate

After finishing the Narconon program, I have seen a huge positive change within myself. It has truly been life-changing. However, when I first arrived to do the program, I was lost with my attention fixated on the past and not sure where I was headed. They helped me get out of the anxiety and out of my head. The drills allowed me to be in the moment, and though they were difficult at first, helped me face the things in front of me without running away, which is what I used to do. Once I got out of the withdrawal unit, I felt ready for the rest of my program.

Next, I started the Sauna Detoxification part of the program. As the days went on, I felt little hope that the sauna would do anything at all. I had little patience with this process, but the sauna crew encouraged me to continue. I finally started feeling more energized, and less like I was dragging; it was working. It was a very refreshing experience, and I felt I had a new body by the end of my sauna experience. I was ready to start the next part of the program.

“I gained a whole new perspective on life—one where I wanted to be productive and helpful, and where I just wanted to keep moving forward.”

I then started the next part of the program – more drills, which became frustrating with a lack of understanding as to why I was doing all of it. I pushed through it, and my ability to communicate got better. I started Objectives and didn’t fully understand them at first and got frustrated again. I had a hard time with this part of the program and would fight doing it. After some one-on-one counseling to help me figure out why I was having such a hard time, I gained a whole new perspective on life—one where I wanted to be productive and helpful, and where I just wanted to keep moving forward.

After this, I went back onto the Objectives part of the program with a new mindset of understanding. I had patience with the process and felt enlightened when I saw myself improving with being in the present, in control and relaxed. After going back and finishing Objectives, I felt like a whole new person.

I then went on to the one-on-one part of the program Life Skills and was again excited to move forward. I started the personal values course and learned about ethical behaviors and survival actions and started handling the things I had done in my past I wasn’t proud of. Taking responsibility for the things I had done; I began to feel a weight lift off my shoulders. Although it was not easy to do, it was well worth it as I finished feeling relieved, knowing I didn’t have those lingering thoughts floating around in my head anymore.

I then started to work to find the root causes of my issues. I felt enlightened to see what my life was, what it is and what it will be now knowing I don’t have to live the way I used to anymore. Since coming to Narconon, I have genuinely seen a massive change in myself, and with a clear body and a clear mind, I am ready to start my new life.
