Still Sober After All These Years

I did not have a rough childhood by any means. My mom and dad divorced when I was young, and I lived with my mom for the most part. We were a church going, Christian family. I didn't start using pain meds until my early 20’s. I had some injuries from playing football in high school, but the real tipping point was when I had an accident and ended up with herniated discs in my back. At that point, pain meds were prescribed to me.

I ended up losing everything I had; my home, friends, and my family. I had hit rock bottom. My best friend's cousin went through the Narconon program and was doing really well. I am from a small town and word had gotten out that I had a problem, so he suggested the program to my dad. I liked the idea of going to Louisiana for treatment, because it would get me out of my usual surroundings. I had gone to different rehabs and tried different things in my hometown with no success. I tried Suboxone and ended up abusing that too. I knew I had to get completely sober.

The New Life Detoxification (sauna) and the Objective processes were really tough to get through, but they helped me a lot. The sauna got rid of all of the toxins and made me feel like I was in a better state physically. Then the objectives helped me feel like a normal person and got me back in touch with reality.

“I have been through a lot since completing the Narconon program 9 years ago, but I was able to overcome all of it with what I learned there. I have a happy life with my wife and a successful career.”

I have been through a lot since completing the Narconon program 9 years ago, but I was able to overcome all of it with what I learned there. I have a happy life with my wife and a successful career. There is always hope, but no one is going to accomplish it for you. You are going to have to want to get better. I feel that Narconon had the perfect combination of steps that helped me deal with the different stages that everyone goes through when trying to get clean.
